Curly hair – shiny, soft and fine textured hair. Curly hair highly reflects to the definite `S’ pattern of a loop. Most people though feel the curly hair is coarse but in reality, it is not only baby soft but also absolutely fine in texture. Curly hair may however, shine as straight or even wavy hair. The curly hair in the wet state gets straightened and as soon as it dries the hair will absorb water and contract back to the curliest form. Thus, in fine, humidity makes curly hair even curlier.

It is important to be noted here that curly hair carries a lot of body and hence it can be very easily styled in its natural form or it can be easily straightened using  a blow dryer, thus making it to look smoother. The curly hair which is quite strong and healthy is normally shiny; with soft curls and it will also contain great elasticity. The curls are also very well defined. If few strands are stretched it will not break off. On the contrary, the damaged curly hair tends to look frizzier and dull. Moreover, it will be dry to touch possessing ill-defined curls.

The curly hair can be further divided into three types; type one is the hair with the loose curls which is usually shiny, covering big curls and this type of hair is very flexible if short it can be easily straightened and if long the hair will have better defined curls. However, the second type is hair with medium curls that is from bouncy to tight curls. Both these types can also be simultaneously present on the same head. In this type normally the crown is the curliest. The last type is the kinky or tighter curls with a lot of strands packed densely. This type of hair will look very dry and definitely needs to be given extra care because it is more fragile.

Today, however, curly hair has become a novel trend and many elite ladies with straight or wavy hair are making their hair curly by use of varying shampoos or different methods available like curling irons or perms that do not damage hair much.
